A bit of fly fishing nostalgia here. Jock Scott does a great job of outlining what anglers today call fly fishing with a "Floating Line" through his exploits with A.E.H. Wood. Greased lines were used in the late 1800's and Early 1900's instead of todays floating lines. This book is written for anglers wishing to look at the technique of early dead drift fly fishing with the floating line and other proven techniques. Be warned there are very few pictures so some familiarity with water is somewhat of a must. Concepts valuable today are covered and are directly applicable to fly fishing for steelhead and trout on the West Coast. -CG |
| I have just read this book and it has excellent information on presentation of the fly to steelhead using sinking fly lines. This presentation is also extremely effective for large Bull trout in the coastal rivers. The book also conveys an important message on the fate of the Steelhead as a species on the West Coast of Canada. A must have for any passionate fly angler.
