Guided Squamish steelhead trips are only available only a few months of the year. We offer guided trips for these terrific sea-run rainbows in the months of March and April or until freshet. These fish will try the patience of the most ardent fly fisher. If you are up to the challenge, we are willing to take you to our favorite haunts but be warned, you must be prepared for anything Mother Nature throws at us. Rain, snow, and wind are common in March and April. For those new to the area "Squamish" means "Mother of the Wind" in Coast Salish- the language of the Squamish Nation. There will be wind.
Trips are walk and wade so you should be prepared to walk the runs you'll be fishing. If you would prefer to drift the river in our pontoon we can offer this at additional charge. If you plan to bring your own gear, two handed rods are recommended in the 7-9wt with a skagit tip. If you prefer a single handed fly rod, a 7-9wt with a type IV sink tip line are the choice. Flies are large so practicing casting heavy flies on heavy lines is a recommended.
